"Mindful" gets attached to a lot of things these days. So before we claim it, it's worth asking what a mindful beverage actually is - and what it isn't.
The two extremes most drinks fall into
Look closely at the shelf and most drinks sit at one of two poles.
On one side: the everyday sodas and juices - bright, familiar, easy to love, but usually loaded with sugar, preservatives, and artificial flavours and colours. They taste good and ask nothing of you, but they don't give much back either.
On the other: the medicinal, herbal and "functional" drinks - earnest, worthy, often genuinely good for you, but intimidating to buy and rarely something you look forward to drinking. They feel like a task, not a treat.
Most of us bounce between the two: the guilty pleasure or the good-for-you chore. Neither is something you'd happily reach for every evening.
A mindful beverage sits in the middle
A mindful beverage is the drink that refuses that trade-off. It's low in calories, with little to no sugar, no artificial ingredients or preservatives - but crucially, it doesn't sacrifice taste to get there. It's something you genuinely enjoy, with nothing to apologise for afterwards. No sugar crash, no guilt, no side effects - just a drink that's good to you and good to drink.
Put simply: mindful means made with intention. Every ingredient is there for a reason, and nothing's in it just to cut costs or chase a flavour trend.
What makes Unwynd mindful
Unwynd is our take on that middle ground - and our attempt to prove you don't have to choose.
It's a great-tasting sparkling soda that happens to be low in sugar and calories. We use natural and nature-identical flavours and natural colours, and skip artificial preservatives entirely. Nothing artificial, nothing you can't pronounce.
But we took mindful one step further than "clean." We built in a considered blend of magnesium and botanicals - ashwagandha, brahmi, chamomile and L-theanine - carefully dosed to support the way you wind down, without ever making the drink feel like medicine. It's a soda first and a functional drink second, in that order, on purpose.
That's the balance we were after: a drink you'd choose for the taste alone, that also happens to be doing a little good while you enjoy it.
Mindful isn't a health claim. It's a way of making things.
For us, a mindful beverage isn't about promising to fix you or asking you to earn it. It's about making something considered - genuinely enjoyable - so that the easy choice and the good choice are finally the same thing.
That's the drink we wanted and couldn't find. So we made it.
